The D-Link DCS-3420 Installation Wizard is a desktop utility used to initialize, assign local IP addresses, and configure network settings for the DCS-3420 Wireless Day & Night Internet Camera.
Because the DCS-3420 is a legacy business-class hardware model, its setup relies on a local computer wizard rather than modern smartphone apps. 🔌 Step 1: Physical Hardware Connections
Before running the software, you must create a temporary wired bridge to your local network. Even if you plan to use wireless mode later, a wired connection is required for the initial setup.
Attach Antennas: Screw the included wireless antennas onto the rear panel connectors.
Connect Ethernet: Plug a standard Ethernet cable into the camera’s back panel RJ-45 port and attach the other end to an open LAN port on your network router or switch.
Connect Power: Plug the 12V DC power adapter into the camera and connect it to an electrical outlet.
